He has a Law degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM); a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, France (Sciences Po); a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the National School of Administration (ENA) in France; and Doctoral studies in Political Economy and Political Comparison by the Graduate School of Claremont, California, USA. He is the coordinator of the Master’s program in Journalism and Public Affairs and affiliated professor of the Public Administration Division at the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE). He has authored several books such as Hijo de la Guerra (Son of War), Mirreynato: La otra desigualdad (Mirreynato: the other inequality), and El otro México (The Other Mexico).
Currently, he is the general director of the Tlatelolco University Cultural Center at UNAM and a political analyst for the NRM news program and the PROYECTO 40 news program. He is also a regular columnist for the national newspaper, El Universal.
